Li people

The Li (Chinese黎族, Pinyin Lizu ) are one of the 55 officially recognized minorities of the People's Republic of China. According to the last census in 2010, they include 1,463,064 people. They live mainly in the island province of Hainan.

Language and writing

1957 was created on the basis of the Latin alphabet and to the Chinese Pinyin linguists a Li- written language. The basis of the dialect of the Autonomous Okrug Ledong the Li Nationality乐 东 黎族 自治县was used as standard pronunciation of the dialect of the village Baoding保定has been set. Tones are expressed by each syllable trailing consonants.
