Lia Eibenschütz

Lia Eibenschütz ( born March 19, 1899 in Wiesbaden, † March 3, 1985 in Berlin) was a German actress.

Life

She had Hungarian ancestors, studied music and worked as a pianist. During a concert tour, she was discovered in 1919 in Berlin as an actress. She was seen in the twenties in many silent films as a young woman in love, she was standing next to in the subject of adolescent salon lady in Berlin on stage.

Married to actor Kurt Vespermann, she retired in the thirties, more and more into the private life and devoted herself to the education of her son, the future actor Gerd Vespermann. Considered a half-Jew, she was excluded from the 1937 Ministry of Arts. After the end of World War II, she took some small roles in West German film productions and came back in Berlin as a theater actress, for example at the Renaissance Theatre.

She is buried in the cemetery Luis III in Berlin.
