Liam McArthur

Liam McArthur ( born August 8, 1967 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish politician and member of the Liberal Democrats. He is married and the father of two sons.

In 1977, McArthur moved with his parents on the island of Sanday, an island of the Orkneys .. He attended the Sanday Junior High School and Kirkwall Grammar School Kirkwall. Then McArthur studied political science at the University of Edinburgh and graduated as Master. Between 1990 and 1992 he worked for the then House of Representatives - Jim Wallace; a second time between 2002 and 2005 in its time as Deputy First Minister.

Following the resignation of Jim Wallace from the Scottish Parliament McArthur succeeded him in the constituency of Orkney and competed in the 2007 parliamentary elections by the direct mandate.
