Liberal Party (Bulgaria)

The Liberal Party ( Bulgarian Либерална партия ), short LP is one of the oldest political parties in Bulgaria. It was in 1879, during the first inaugural meeting of the Bulgarian Parliament founded, and played an important role in the development of the first Bulgarian Constitution. The newspapers Целокупна България ( Zelkupna Bulgarija, dt Vereintes Bulgaria), Независимост ( Nezawisimost, dt independence ), Търновска конституция ( Tarnovska Konstitucija, dt Constitution of Turnovo ) were regarded as their organs.

The party base was minded mostly pro-Western ( Bulg русофоби / Russophobe ), or had received part of their training at the universities of Western Europe.
