Libertad (Velvet Revolver album)

Libertad is the title of the second published in 2007, we have so far last studio album by the American hard rock supergroup Velvet Revolver. After the subsequent tour to the publication singer Scott Weiland left the group and has since not replaced. The band, however, plans to continue her career with a new singer.

Background

The debut album of the group, Contraband, was extremely successful: it was (June 8, 2004) with more than 250,000 units sold in the week of its release the fastest-selling debut album in the history of American rock music. It also reached the top position of the U.S. album charts, was number 7 in Germany and reached number 11 on the British charts.

Libertad was recorded at Henson Recording Studio and was published on 29 June 2007. It contained, besides twelve original compositions by the group with Can not Get It Out Of My Head and the cover version of a song by the Electric Light Orchestra. In addition to the regular CD and a bonus DVD was released with the album, which contains documentation for the previous tour. It is entitled Tierra Roja, Sangre Roja. Reception

Libertad was only in the UK, where it reached # 6 of the album charts, more successful than the previous album; in Germany ( No. 36 ) and the USA ( 5th place), it underperformed. Even the singles cut less well than in 2004: She Builds Quick Machines reached number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, but was neither in Germany nor in the UK in the charts present.
