History

The station was put into operation on January 16, 1899 under the name Bock - Wallendorf as the new terminus of the line Probstzella - Taubenbach on the slopes of Bock Leite. 14 years later, on 31 October 1913 was a through station with the completion of the railway from Lauscha from the railhead. However, he lost much of its significance here - especially in freight transport, because until then he was the station of destination for all programs in the community, and the light of the later county town of Neuhaus am Rennweg

In 1963 it came to the closing of the cargo clearance as well as the truckload clearance. The train station was important until the early 1980s as a water station for all uphill driving steam trains, even though he was no longer busy operationally and only had a crossing track. In contrast to the light station here stopped the fast train Leipzig -Sonnenberg. On January 22, 1997, it was surprising set due to technical defects in the movement of trains. On 1 July 2006, the Federal Railway Authority approved the permanent cessation of the train service.

Meanwhile, the German regional rail has a monopoly on the route. Founded in January 2008, DBV- Friends of Max and Moritz train eV received on August 20, permission to trolley operation. This takes place on the stretch between the forging field stations and light east.
