The state election in Liechtenstein in 2013 was held on 3 February 2013, and was the regular election of the legislature of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Here, all 25 members of the Liechtenstein parliament were elected in the two constituencies upper and lower land of the people of the land. This was due to the expiry of the four-year term of the last elected parliament in 2009.

Starting position

In the regional elections of 2009, the Patriotic Union reached 47.6 %, the Progressive Citizens' Party in Liechtenstein 43.5 % and Free List 8.9% of the votes cast. The Party The Independent (DU) newly founded entered 2013 for the first time, which for the second time in the history of Liechtenstein was a choice of four parties.

Already some time before the election, the former Prime Minister Klaus Tschütscher had (VU), his deputy Martin Meyer ( FBP) and the other Ministers Hugo Quaderer (VU) and Renate Müssner (VU) publicly stated not to run after the state elections of 2013. This remained from the previous government as the only candidate Councillor Aurelia Frick ( FBP).
