Liechtensteiner Volksblatt

The Liechtenstein people sheet is the older of the two daily newspapers in Liechtenstein. It is published by the Liechtenstein people sheet AG and reached a circulation of 9000 copies ( 2006). The editorial office is located in Schaan.

History

The newspaper was first published in 1878 and was moved from the Press Association Liechtenstein People Sheet. Initiator and first editor ( until 1884 ) was the princely court chaplain Johann Fetz. Until 1918, the People's Journal was a weekly newspaper, in 1919 it appeared twice, in 1927, three times, four times in 1962, in 1978 five times a week. Since January 1985, published daily (except Sunday).

The newspaper of the Oberland is considered conservative, and connected the Princely House. It is close to the Progressive Citizens' Party. Since September 2006, the People's Journal is published by the Liechtenstein people sheet AG, which arose from the former Press Association. In October 2006, the Vorarlberg media entrepreneur Eugen Russ ( Vorarlberg media house ) topped with a minority stake in the publishing house. The majority of shares is still in Liechtenstein possession.

The Liechtenstein people sheet is financed by subscriptions and the sale of advertisements. It will be launched in German language and mainly deals with current issues from the region Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Austria.
