Lieutenant governor

A lieutenant governor (English lieutenant governor ) is the name for a high government officials in the United States and many countries of the Commonwealth of Nations. Usually it involves the Deputy Governor or the Governor General. In Canada, however, he represents de facto head of state directly opposite the provincial governments.

Based on the English translation Lieutenant Governor or Deputy Governor of the position of the deputy heads of government of a region is called a sub-national level, as lieutenant governor for other countries, such as for the provinces in China.

Australia

Beginning of the 19th century was only New South Wales recognized as a colony and had its own governor, all other Australian ( sub-) colonies were led by Vice- governors. Later, the individual sub-colonies were increasingly independent and, consequently, there used full-rank governors.
