Liévans

Liévans is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Liévans situated at an altitude of 305 m above sea level, about 14 km east of the town of Vesoul (air line). The village is located in the central part of the department, increased slightly south of the lowlands of Lauzin, north of the summit of Mont Moiran.

The area of ​​4.16 km ² municipal area comprises a section in the rolling countryside between the basin of Vesoul in the west and the level of Lure in the east. And is bordered in the area west and north of the lowlands of Lauzin, which rises at Mont Moiran. North of Liévans enters the stream into a Alluvialniederung, which is on average 290 m. History

Is first mentioned in the year Liévans 1262nd In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. The local government has held the Priory of Calmoutier. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the place with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. Attractions

The village church of Liévans was built in the 19th century in the Gothic Revival style. In the center and at four local outputs are Calvaires. The village is characterized by various houses from the 17th and 18th century, showing the traditional style of the Haute -Saône.

Population

With 136 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Liévans one of the small towns in the Haute- Saône. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1886 223 persons were still counted ), a slight population growth was recorded since the early 1980s again.

Economy and infrastructure
