He belonged in the Middle Ages to the monastery Kärkna ( Sokolov ) and was from the end of the 16th century in private hands. The estate was divided before 1682 in the goods Lewolde and Piipe. Walter has, inter alia, the Tartu Town Hall and the mansions of Salla ( Sall ), Varangu ( Wrangelshof ) and Väätsa ( Waetz ) configured. On the lower ground floor with vaulted ceilings and a central corridor is the main floor. In the center is the room, adjoined by other rooms.

Of the few outbuildings of the manor, the steward's house with its baroque roof windows is obtained, which was built directly next to the mansion. End of the 18th century, the unspoilt natural park of the estate has been created.

The Baltic German nobleman Nikolai von Schilling, whom the goods belonged Liigvalla, was expropriated by the Estonian land reform of 1919. Then in the mansion a school was housed. After the end of the Soviet occupation and the restoration of Estonian independence, the mansion was sold to a private individual.
