Lil' Kim

Lil 'Kim ( born July 11, 1974 in Brooklyn, New York City, real name Kimberly Denise Jones) is an American rapper, singer and actress.

Life

After the divorce of her parents Lil 'Kim grew up in a children's home. Through his friendship with her future mentor and lover, The Notorious BIG, she discovered her musical talent. In 1996 her debut album, Hard Core. Her breakthrough in Europe managed to Lil 'Kim in 2001 with the Phil Collins In the Air Tonite cover. Together with Mýa, Pink and Christina Aguilera she had with the cover version of Lady Marmalade her greatest success as the song topped the charts both in Germany and in the United States and Britain. For this song the singers won a Grammy in 2002, the highest award in the music business.

Special attention she received in 2002 in Germany by her song Kimnotyze, which is a cover of Notorious BIG's Hypnotize song. After the death of rapper took Kimnotyze together with the rapper Trooper Da Don and producer DJ Tomekk and rapped on it partially in German language (" Gibs me correctly, no matter where ").

In July 2005, Lil 'was sentenced Kim for perjury to a prison term of one year and a day and a fine of 50,000 dollars. She had in 2003 stated under oath, not to have been in a shooting outside the studio of the radio station Hot 97 in attendance.
