Lillian Disney

Lillian Marie Disney ( * February 15, 1899 in Spalding, Idaho as Lillian Marie Bounds, † 16 December 1997 in West Los Angeles, California ) was an American entrepreneur and philanthropist wife. She was co-author of the first Mickey Mouse comics and you will be credited with the naming of the most famous comic character of her husband.

Life

She was the wife and widow of Walt Disney. Lillian Marie and Walt Disney were married on July 13, 1925 They had two daughters. :

  • Diane Marie Disney ( December 18, 1933 *, † November 19, 2013 ) wife of Ron Miller and
  • The adopted Sharon Mae Disney ( December 21, 1936 *; † 16 February 1993).

1969, 3 years after the death of her husband, Lillian Disney married for the second time, John Louis Truyens.

With a donation of $ 50 million, she was the Hauptfinanziererin the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Lillian Disney was co-author of the first Mickey Mouse comics and the namesake of her husband's most famous comic book character. During a train journey he showed her a first drawing a comic and said he would call the character " Mortimer Mouse".
