Limerick Lake

Limerick Lake is a lake in the catchment area of the Trent River and Lake Ontario in Limerick Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. It is located approximately 2.5 kilometers northeast of the ontarischen Highway 62, 160 kilometers southwest of the Canadian national capital, Ottawa and 200 kilometers northeast of the capital ontarischen Toronto.

Settlements

The majority of lakeside zone is only accessible by boat. Limerick Lake has only one permanent residents, but the lake has 154 seasonal residences, which are mainly inhabited in the summer months from June to September.

Ecology

The coastal area around the lake is heavily forested and rich in species such as white-tailed deer, bear, moose, Canadian beavers, loons, and small game. The lake also contains several fish species: Largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, American perch, rock bass, lake trout and American Common sunfish.

Leisure facilities

Normally Limerick Lake is frozen over from late November to late April, so the lake allows winter activities such as snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and dog sledding. The lake is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, fishermen and hunters.
