Lincoln Building (42nd Street, Manhattan)

The Lincoln Building ( also One Grand Central Place ) is a skyscraper in New York City, NY, which was finished in 1930 after a two -year construction phase. It is located on 42nd Street East opposite the Grand Central Terminal and adjacent to the Citigroup Center. Not far away is the Chrysler Building. The office building is 205 meters high and has 55 floors. The tower was built in the typical construction time for its steel frame construction, the facade consists of granite and limestone in the upper part and the roof also made ​​of bricks.

The architect, James Edwin Ruthvin Carpenter, used various style elements such as the neo-Gothic windows in the upper floors. The building is named after the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. In the lobby there is a bronze model of the Lincoln Memorial by Daniel Chester French. In 2009, received the name of the other One Grand Central Place. This name was attached in the meantime also at the entrance area with a large logo.
