Linda Andrews (singer)

Linda Andrews (born 19 October 1973, Tórshavn, Faroe Islands as Linda Andreasen ) is a Faroese gospel singer. She became known in 2009 in Denmark, where she won the talent show X-Factor.

Life

Linda Andreasen has four older siblings. As a 14 -year-old she went to school after Mariager in Denmark. After the tenth grade, she returned to the Faroe Islands, where she completed a trade school. At 21, she moved back to Copenhagen to do there with her ​​former schoolmates music. She was, among others, choir singer Johnny Logan and Carola Häggkvist.

She leads in the Copenhagen area four gospel choirs and in 2008 published a CD with Christian music. That same year she also appeared on the Summarfestivalur in the Faroe Islands, which she became known to a wider audience for the first time. Subsequently, she was nominated by the newspaper Sosialurin the best Faroese vocalist 2008.

In the second season of the Danish talent show X-Factor Danmarks Radio 2009 Linda Andrews was more of a Geheimfavoritin, but was able to hold in all the polls, without ever entering the danger zone. She was one of three representatives in the group of over 25 year olds. Your mentor on the show was the jury member Lina Rafn.

On March 27, Linda won the show and with it a recording contract worth 150,000 euros. The show was of about 2.3 million viewers followed (40 % of the Danish population). This is a national attendance record since the Euro Vision Song Contest 2001 from Denmark.
