Linda Grubben

Linda Grubben (* September 13, 1979 in Stavanger, native Linda Tjørhom ) is a former Norwegian biathlete.

Grubben won at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City silver in the relay competition. At the World Championship 2004 in Oberhof she could get the gold medal in the relay. Your first individual medal she won at the World Championships 2005 in Hochfilzen with bronze over 15 km. Followed in 2006 at the Biathlon Mixed Relay World Championships in Pokljuka silver in the relay.

The last race of the season 2005/2006 in Oslo could decide for themselves and thus secured the third place in the World Cup Mass Start disciplines. In the World Cup they could win a total of eight races, three of them in the season 2006/07. At the 2007 World Championships in Antholz they initially won silver in the pursuit. Peak and biggest success of her career was the world champion title in singles, she secured by an error-free shooting. On February 11, 2007 just hours after winning the bronze medal with the Norwegian season, she was surprisingly its immediate withdrawal from biathlon known; as reasons she called the training and travel stress. Although she no longer marched with the last nine races, finished Grubben end of the season in the World Cup but 6th place and was therefore the best Norwegian of the season 2006/07.

Since the summer of 2006, she is married to the former Norwegian biathlon coach Roger Grubben. They have a daughter (* December 2007). Because of their fear of flying Grubben could not participate in the course of her career in several competitions (eg at the Biathlon World Championships 2003 in Khanty -Mansiysk, Russia).
