Linus (mythology)

Linos (Greek Λίνος ) is a person of Greek mythology.

He is a son of Apollo, is regarded as the son of Calliope and served as a music teacher of Heracles. Other sources, he was regarded as the inventor of letters and Heracles brought the letter at. When he punished unjustly it once, killed him Heracles in anger.
