Lionel Nallet

Lionel Nallet ( born 14 September 1976 in Bourg -en- Bresse, Ain ) is a French rugby union player. He plays as a second row forward for Racing Métro 92 and is captain of the French national team.

Nallet began his career with the U.S. unterklassigen Bressane and switched to CS Bourgoin- Jallieu 1998. There he played until 2003 when he moved to Castres, where he was also captain. He made ​​his international debut 28 May 2000, against Romania in Bucharest, scoring also his first attempt. Although he mostly belonged to the squad of France in preparation for the 2003 World Cup, he was not nominated for the World Cup.

Only at the end of 2005 Nallet returned to the national team. He played a central role in the defense of the title at the Six Nations and was also nominated for the World Cup in their own country. He was Sébastien Chabal preferred playing on the side of Fabien Pelous and reached the semi-finals with the team.

After Pelous and Raphaël Ibañez ended their National team career after the tournament and with Marc Lièvremont a new coach was hired Nallet was the captain of France in the Six Nations 2008. With the end of season 2008/ 09 he left Castres and joined the newly promoted Racing Métro 92.
