Lisa's Pony

Lisa's Pony ( Original title: Lisa's Pony) is the eighth episode of the third season of the American animated television series The Simpsons. For this episode won Dan Castellaneta, the English voice actor of Homer Simpson and some other characters, the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance.

Action

Daughter Lisa participates in a talent night at school, when she noticed before the show that she needs a new leaf for her saxophone. She asks her father Homer by phone to get it quickly. The music store is located next to Homer, however Stammmkneipe, so he decides to have a beer before the errand. After the store has, however, already been closed. Homer is knocked down again in the bar complains to another guest, " the idiot from the music business ," have prematurely closed up the shop. This now introduces himself as the owner of the store. With prayer and supplication Homer can get him to open the store again and the leaflet to sell him. Meanwhile, Lisa's appearance, however, has already begun. Without new saxophone sheet hardly meets a sound. When Homer arrives with the Saxophone Ligature and he can only watch as Lisa is ridiculed by his fault.

Lisa is angry and disappointed because of the embarrassment. Homer does not succeed at first, they bingen to forgive him. Finally, he decides to buy her a pony for her to fulfill her deepest desire, so she forgives him. To finance it receives a credit of $ 5,000. Lisa is excited about the pony and forgives him. Homer, however, has not reckoned with the Charges: The stable space for the pony will cost $ 530 per month. Homer has to take a second job at the Kwik -E -Mart. Lisa spends a lot of time with the pony and does not notice that Homer working day and night; undermine him because of fatigue but errors more often.

Finally, mother Marge makes Homer so worried about that she told her daughter that Homer for some time now has two jobs to fund just about the pony. Lisa watched her father at his second job and is shaken. She decided to return the pony because her self an unreliable father is more important than a pony.

Credentials

At the beginning of the episode Homer is dreaming its own version of the scene " The morning of mankind" ( engl. " The Dawn of Man " ), published in 1968 from the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey, is represented in Homer as a monkey. Also there is a scene when Lisa wakes up, a reference to the movie The Godfather, because she sees the head of the pony, which lies in her bed. After Homer hurt feelings during the course of the episode Lisa's, he looks at old photographs of the family. The U.S. Air Date this episode on 7 November 1991 in the U.S. FOX watched an average of about 12.7 million viewers. More than a year later, on 19 January 1993, the ZDF sent the German -speaking Original.

Dan Castellaneta won for its synchronization among others Homer Simpson ( see also synchronization of The Simpsons ) in 1992, the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance, where he wears this award along with Jackie Mason, Julie Kavner, Yeardley Smith, Marcia Wallace and Nancy Cartwright, all for the synchronization of one or more characters from the Simpsons were awarded.
