Lise London

Lise London ( * February 15, 1916 as Lise Ricol in Montceau -les -Mines, France, † 31 March 2012 in Paris) was a French communist and member of the Resistance.

London was first marriage to Auguste Delaune, in second marriage with Artur London. In the Spanish Civil War she took part on the side of the International Brigades. After the armistice between Germany and France, she joined the Resistance in July 1940. In 1942, she was arrested by the French police, handed over to the Germans and deported to the Ravensbrück concentration camp in 1944. In 1949 she went with her two children to Prague, where her husband had become deputy foreign minister. In 1963 the family returned London back to France. For their achievements Lise London has been awarded the Legion of Honour officer level.
