Lisnagarvey transmitting station

The transmitter Lisnagarvey is a transmitter for medium wave near the city of Lisburn, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

The transmission system is operated by BBC Radio Ulster and transmits on the frequency 1341 kHz. The transmitter has an output power of 150 kW and can be received in the evening hours in Germany.

As a transmitting antenna, a guyed, self- radiant truss mast is used, which thickens in the middle and at its foot and its tip is tapered (so-called Blaw -Knox transmission tower ). This transmission tower was built in 1936.

A similar construction also possess prime mast in Budapest Lakihegy, a transmission tower of the transmitter and the transmitter Wakarel Stara Zagora (both in Bulgaria).
