List of artificial objects on Mars

The list of artificial objects on Mars contains the most artificial objects on the Martian surface.

Most probes are not in operation. While Phoenix was started and completed during the year 2008, the mission of the two twin rovers Spirit and Opportunity has been repeatedly extended since 2003, as the Rover powered by solar cells (or were, in the case of Spirit ) and to be significantly have proved more durable than was originally assumed. In March 2010, could last a signal from Spirit are received and in May 2011, the mission was officially terminated or ended the attempts to make contact. Since August 6, 2012, the Mars Science Laboratory has been added to the rover Curiosity, so again two rovers are active.

While more than 9 tons were brought to Mars, nothing has been brought back to Earth from Mars to date. The return of Mars samples to Earth will occur at the earliest in 2018 in a joint mission of ESA and NASA.

This list does not include smaller items such as parachutes, heat shields or the MER lander.

The objects are numbered in the order of their premium or landing.
