List of cities in Sri Lanka

This is a list of cities in Sri Lanka.

By far the largest agglomeration in Sri Lanka is Colombo with a population of 2,558,580 (as of 1 January 2007). Thus 13 percent of the country's population is concentrated in the capital region.

In the following table are the cities of over 30,000 inhabitants, the results of the Census ( Census ) of 17 March 1981 to July 17, 2001, a calculation for January 1, 2007, and the province to which the city is listed. The population figures refer to the actual city without suburban belt.
