List of cities in Vietnam
The list of cities in Vietnam provides an overview of all the cities of the Southeast Asian country of Vietnam.
In Vietnam, communities are awarded by government decisions the municipal law. The selection is made according to certain criteria, such as area, population, state of the infrastructure or economic and political importance. On the first level are the government immediacy cities. They have the status of a province. On the second level, the provincial cities to follow. You are an equal basis with counties or municipalities. All cities are divided into different classes ( special class and 1st to 3rd class).
The population figures in the following tables relate to the census of 1 April 2009.
