List of members of the United Nations Economic and Social Council

The Economic and Social Council of the United Nations has 54 Member States elected by the General Assembly of the United Nations for overlapping three-year option periods. 14 members representing the African, 11 Asian, 6 Eastern European, 10 Latin American and Caribbean regional group and 13, the Group of Western European and other States. Each year, one third of the 54 members are elected for a term of 3 years, with an immediate re-election is not excluded.

'*' Seats that changed within an election period. Malta became a seat of Greece on 1 January 2001, Spain a seat Portugal on 1 January 2002, Turkey a seat Portugal on 11 November 2003 and Spain a seat Greece on 1 January 2005. In 2011, seem to Switzerland and Spain the seats of Liechtenstein and Turkey to have taken. From 1 January 2012 the Switzerland is the seat of Norway and the Netherlands take over the seat of Belgium.
