List of Nobel laureates in Physics
The Nobel Prize in Physics is awarded annually since 1901 and is endowed since 2012 with 8 million Swedish kronor (about 893,000 Euros ). The selection of the laureates is the responsibility of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The sponsor of the prize, Alfred Nobel, decreed in 1895, in his will, in the awarding of the prize was controlled, the Nobel Prize in Physics was to be awarded to the person who " has made in the field of physics, the most important discovery or invention ".
