List of postal codes in Poland

ZIP codes in Polish colloquially " kod Pocztowy " and officially " Pocztowy Numer Adresowy " (PNA ) refers.

History

The postal codes were introduced in Poland on January 1, 1973 ( Regulation of the Minister of Postal Services No. 89 of 17 November 1972 on the introduction of postal code, Journal of Laws No. 8, item 48 m.sp.Änd. ).

Format

The Polish postal codes consist of five digits, the first digit determines the postal region ( okręg Pocztowy ). Polish postal codes are written in the format dd - ddd before the city name (eg 01-224 Warszawa).

System

The cities of Białystok, Bielsko- Biala Bydgoszcz, Gdansk, Gdynia, Katowice, Kielce, Koszalin, Kraków, Lublin, Łódź, Olsztyn, Opole, Poznań, Radom, Rzeszów, Sopot, Szczecin, Warsaw, Wrocław and Zielona Góra have multiple zip codes, smaller cities each have a Zip on the land, every post office its own ZIP code (which may be the same for several villages then ).

There are also mail recipients who have its own ZIP code, as is, for example 00-999 for Polish television.
