List of rulers of the Mossi state of Wogodogo

Wagadudu (also Wogdgo, French Ouagadougou ) is a kingdom of the West African nation of Burkina Faso, Mossi in today, which by the French was independent until the conquest and even today, but without nominal power persists. Capital was the town of the same name, which was developed under the French capital of the colony of Upper Volta.

Ouagadougou was founded around the 12th century by Oubri and by an emperor, the Mogho Naaba, reigned as hierarchically structured state. According to legend, Oubri had 333 children who each won a belonging to the Principality of Ouagadougou. With the arrival of the French at the end of the 19th century, however, there were only four of them.

The Mogho Naaba below are five " governors ," each of which a province is allocated to one of the function of an administrator, another chief of the eunuchs, the third party as the leader of the infantry, the Fourth as leader of the cavalry and the Fifth as guardians royal tombs. The inhabitants of the empire lived as farmers and ranchers and were able to largely preserve their traditional religion against the spreading Islam.

The empire was conquered in 1896 by French troops in a bloody battle and affiliated to the French colonial empire. Today, the Mogho Naaba resides as a spiritual leader of the Mossi in his palace in the Burkinabe capital, Ouagadougou, since 1972 this is Naaba Baongo II
