List of universities and colleges in Slovakia

Slovakia currently has 23 colleges under state auspices.

The Slovak Higher Education Act distinguishes public colleges, public universities and private universities. Public universities are public sector institutions with a self-management. State universities are military colleges, universities, police and medical colleges. Furthermore, the universities are divided according to their nature in university and non- university higher education.
