In this list there are volcanoes on the Australian mainland and on Australian islands. The last volcanic eruption took place in 2011 on the Heard Island by the Big Ben instead.

There is no active volcano in Western Australia, however, some extinct and the geological evidence of another. Nineteen extinct volcanoes there are in the valley of the Fitzroy River in the region of Kimberley, as well as hot springs, which are possibly associated with the activity of extinct volcanoes. There are also deposits of basalt in Bunbury and Cape Gosselin.
