Literaturpreis der Stadt München
The Literature Prize of the city of Munich was founded in 1928 and 1957 respectively as prize literature. In 1991 he was converted to the award with today's designation and awarded every two years since then, endowed with 10,000 DM
Since 1999, the Munich Literature Prize, as he is also called, awarded every three years, alternating with the Journalism Prize of the City of Munich and the Translation Prize of the city of Munich. The prize money has been increased to 10,000 euros.
The award will honor " an outstanding in style and content literary oeuvre ". The winners have to "come from the Munich region or have a close connection to Munich as a place of their origin or of their work ."
