According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.3 km ², of which 7.1 km ² of land and 0.2 km ² (2.47 %) is water.

According to the census of 2000, there are 10,855 people, 4,687 households, and 2,873 families residing in the city. The population density is 1524.1 persons per km ². 92.13 % of the population are White, 0.65 % African American, 0.06 % Native American, 4.20 % Asian, 0.02 % Pacific Islander, 1.33 % from other races, and 1.60% mixed race. 5.33% are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
