The Little Scioto River is a 66 km long right tributary of the Ohio River in southern Ohio. It drains an area of 603 km ² and is part of the river system of the Mississippi River. The outflow is via the Ohio River and Mississippi River into the Gulf of Mexico.

The Little Scioto River rises around 7 kilometers northeast of the town of Beaver in western Jackson County. Then it flows in a generally south- southwesterly direction through the County's Jackson and Scioto and flows to the east of the city Sciotoville into the Ohio River. Its main tributaries are the 22- km-long Rocky Fork Little Scioto River, 14 km long Sugar Camp Creek and 13 km of Holland Fork. The United States Board on Geographic Names in 1913 put the name of the river with Little Scioto River fixed. Throughout its history, it was also called Brushy Fork, Little River and Little Siota Sciota River.

The water of the river was heavily polluted in the past by creosote. As a polluter is considered one located somewhere near the river company to manufacture wood preservatives. In 2002 a major project to clean the contaminated company premises, as well as a 2 km long river section began.
