Little Women II: Jo's Boys

Missis Jo and her cheerful family (Japanese若草 物語 ナン と ジョー 先生Wakakusa Monogatari: Nan to Jō -sensei, literally: The Story of Young Grass: Nan and Miss Jo ) is an anime television series based on the novel of the Little Men American author Louisa May Alcott based. It was erstausgestrahlt 1993 as part of the series World Masterpiece Theater series and is a sequel to A cheerful family.

The story takes place in the 19th century at a boarding school, which is led by Jo March from A cheerful family.

Action

Jo March has grown up and runs with her husband, a boarding school, which she set up in the house that her deceased aunt has left her. Your husband Friedrich Bhaer met her in New York. With him she had two sons, Teddy and Rob. The couple is trying to educate the children on their way as well as possible.

Although the boarding school is a school for boys, two girls are also taught there: Daisy, daughter of Jos sister Meg, and the lively Nan, who came in 1882 in the boarding school in Plumfield. Jo takes the two street children Nat and Dan on in the school.

Formation and Publications

The forty episodes of the series originated in the animation studio Nippon Animation, which had taken over the production of all previous World Masterpiece Theater series such as Heidi and a happy family. As a director acted Kozo Kuzuha. The Roman worked Michiru Shimada to the writer for the series. He changed the plot. While the original book begins with the arrival Nats, appeared the same character in the anime only on the middle of the action. Nan, however, with which the action begins in the anime, comes in the book before until later. Shimada can tell who remembers in flashbacks of her childhood at boarding the story from the perspective of the adult Nan.

Fuji Television beamed Missis Jo and her cheerful family of 17 January to 19 December 1993 for the first time from Japanese television. The anime was in Japan on VHS and 2002 out on ten DVDs.

The series also appeared in Spanish, Italian and German synchronization. The German premiere took place from 1997 to 1998 in the children's program Vampy on RTL 2 instead. Later was Missis Jo and her cheerful family on Tele 5 (but only 14 episodes ) and ORF 1 to see ( in Confetti Tivi ).
