The Liujiaxia Dam ( Chinese刘家峡 水坝/刘家峡 水坝, Liujiaxia shuiba ) is a large dam on the middle upper reaches of the Yellow River, which impounds this to Liujiaxia Reservoir (刘家峡 水坝/刘家峡 水坝). The reservoir is named for the Binglingsi Temple on the north shore also Binglingsi ( = Ten Thousand Buddhas ) Lake. The dam and the hydroelectric power plant are in the Chinese province of Gansu Linxia Autonomous County in the city Yongjing. 1.5 km upstream ends of the Tao River in the Yellow River.

The shut-off is a 147 m high and 204 m long concrete gravity dam. The total crest length of 840 m is composed of several individual buildings, is also double-sided auxiliary walls and dams are included.

The hydroelectric power plant that produces 1225 MW, was the first large Chinese hydropower plant with more than 1000 MW. It was planned with Soviet help. It has five Francis turbines, generators, three 225 MW, 250 MW and once even afford 300 MW, 1225 MW together. Others reportedly there are 1160 MW. Construction began on 27 September 1958, and the impounding in October 1968. Commissioning was on 1 April 1969. The fifth and final turbine was put into operation on 5 December 1974.

The reservoir serves the following purposes: flood control, irrigation, ice-check, performance increase by 50 % below the nearby hydroelectric power plants
