Live Search

Live Search was designed by Microsoft and its Internet portal MSN search engine and was available at www.live.com. She also has served as the successor to Microsoft's previous Internet search MSN.

The successor of Live Search was launched on 1 June 2009 under the name Bing. After the domain www.live.com forwarded a time to home of Bing, you can find there now the login page to the free e-mail service Hotmail.

Naming

Live Search was the search engine of the Windows Live range.

Scope of search

With the search engine users ( terms ), excerpts and images could look in normal view for words on the internet. In addition, search entries in the Windows Live services "News" (news) and " maps" ( maps ) could be passed in order to look for terms.

Since the beginning of 2008, the Home of Live Search was personalized. The user could insert additional elements such as a weather forecast or headlines and charts from the fields of music and cinema.

Live Search Academic ( previously Windows Live Academic) and Live Search Books, parallel projects on Google Scholar or Google Books, were discontinued in May 2008. In October 2009, Microsoft Academic Search has been started.
