Ljubica Marić

Ljubica Marić ( born March 18, 1909 in Kragujevac, † 17 September 2003 in Belgrade ) was a Yugoslavian or Serbian composer.

Maric studied in Belgrade with Josip Štolcer - Slavenski and the Conservatory of Prague with Josef Suk and Alois Haba and composition with Nikolai Malko conducting. She has taught since 1945 as a lecturer, since 1957 as a professor at the Music Academy in Belgrade. She devoted herself to the study of the Serbian folk music and early Christian Orthodox church music.

In addition to chamber music and several cantatas she has composed a Passacaglia for orchestra and a Byzantine Concerto for Piano and Orchestra.
