Ljubiša Broćić

Ljubisa Brocic ( born October 3, 1911 in Belgrade, † August 16, 1995 ) was a Yugoslav football coach.

Career

Brocic who was active in his career as a player at FC Jugoslavia Belgrade, coached many top European clubs.

His coaching career began in 1946 in Albania, where the same in the same year he was also the Balkan Cup win. He then worked for several Yugoslav clubs, Metalac Belgrade, FK Red Star Belgrade and FK Vojvodina Novi Sad.

After he was active as a coach from 1954 to 1956 in the Middle East and from 1956 to 1957 at PSV Eindhoven, Ljubisa Brocic was the season in 1957/58 coach of Juventus in the Italian Serie A. Since Brocic spoke no Italian, it was Teobaldo Depetrini set aside. When he left Juve play with a defensive 5-3 2 formation, which was always ready quickly to put the star striker Omar Sívori and John Charles in scene. The team of the Old Lady practiced this style very successfully and won in this season its tenth Scudetto. In the season 1958/59 Brocic was then released in November, among other things, since Juventus in the European Cup of Champions 1958/59 in the preliminary round quite clearly - the return match was lost with 0:7 - failed because of the Wiener Sport - Club. On 16 November 1958 he was relieved of his duties in favor Depetrinis and time being used in scouting the Juve.

For the 1960/61 season he was appointed coach of FC Barcelona. Began the season still promising with four wins from their first four games, Barcelona later fell into a crisis and Brocic was released in January 1961.

In his later years he coached another clubs mainly from the Arab and the oceanic space.
