Llandrindod Wells (Welsh Llandrindod ) is a spa (bath ) in the county of Powys in central Wales. The town has 5,024 inhabitants.

History

The original settlement Castell Collen goes back to the time of the Roman occupation of the British Isles. The real growth of the city began in 1749 with the construction of the first hotel for visitors to the water sources.

With the connection to the railway network to England in 1865, the economic development of the city began.

Llandrindod Wells was originally the county town of Radnorshire. After the restructuring of regional administrations in 1974, Llandrindod Wells administrative headquarters of the newly formed county of Powys.
