Geographical Location

Löbitz is located about ten kilometers southeast of Naumburg ( Saale) in Wethautal. As districts of the former town of Gross Gestewitz and Pauscha were reported.

History

The place Löbitz was first mentioned in 1237 as Lawitz documented.

On 1 January 2010 the municipalities Löbitz and Görschen merged with the municipality Mertendorf the new community Mertendorf. One more day before Utenbach was incorporated into Löbitz.

Löbitz part of the regional public transport network. By Löbitz wrong bus number 618 Naumburg ( Saale ) Mertendorf - Osterfeld the passenger transport company castle district. The nearest railway stations are Mertendorf and bumps on the railway line Naumburg - Teuchern.

Federal highway 180 ( Naumburg - Zeitz ) runs about five kilometers northeast of Löbitz. The nearest motorway junction is Naumburg on the Federal Highway 9, about seven kilometers to the east.
