Lobuche

Lobuche East from the base camp.

The Lobuche is a more than six thousand meters high mountain in the Khumbu region of Nepal. The mountain has two main peaks, the 6145 m high western summit ( Lobuche West) and the 6119 m high east summit ( Lobuche East). Both peaks are approximately two kilometers apart and connected by a deeply notched ridge. The Lobuche located west of the Khumbu glacier, on the route of Mount Everest Trek Pheriche and Gorak Shep between and about 30 km southwest of Mount Everest.

Lobuche West

The Lobuche West is technically demanding and is considered difficult climbed, six thousand in the Khumbu. It was climbed for the first time 1955 on Südschulter.

Lobuche East

The first documented ascent of Lobuche East took place on April 25, 1984 by Laurence Nielson and Sherpa Ang Gyalzen. However, it is likely that the peak has already climbed before. The Lobuche East is a popular climbing destination, and is still considered as trekking in Nepal mountains, although the summit contains steep ice and snow passages in the end. Most also not the actual eastern summit, but the so-called "false summit " (false summit ) is south climbed it. He's in the Iceland peak of difficulty comparable to the ascent requires a permit. The base camp is located on the southwest flank to 4950 m altitude.

Lobuche place

The place Lobuche ( Lage27.9485486.810246 ) lies at 4940 m altitude. It is situated about four kilometers south of Gorak Shep and thus on the way to the base camp of Mount Everest. The former pasture has grown tremendously with the increase of trekking tourism. The number of hotels and accommodation places has now risen sharply - with serious ecological consequences. In particular, in the high season the place is heavily crowded.
