Lola B2K/10

The Lola B2K/10 was a Le Mans prototype, which was built in 2000 by Lola Cars.

The B2K/10 was the successor to the B98/10, and replaced it in the big Le Mans Prototype class - the LMP1 class. However, the B2K/10 was not a new building but a logical development of its predecessor. A characteristic feature of the car was its front end with the third headlight in a powerful bulge on the front axle. The rest of the body has been completely revised and was much stiffer than the B98/10. The prototype was designed as the customer's vehicle and was mainly sold to racing teams from the USA, who brought in the American Le Mans Series, these vehicles are used. A total of six chassis were produced.

Lola developed the car for three different engine configurations, which should be more to come later. The choice was between a 6 -liter V8 engine from Ford, which was revised at Roush Racing. Then there was the proven GV4 V10 engine from Judd and the already somewhat dated 6- cylinder twin-turbo boxer engine from Porsche.

The B2K/10 was a popular customer's vehicle at the races of the American Le Mans Series, European Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the car in 2000 from the Racing for Holland team of Jan Lammers, for the first time was used. In the United States Champion, Rafanelli and Taurus Sports Racing drove this vehicle. In Europe, among other familiar Konrad Motorsport on this technology. His last year was the B2K/10 2004, when Taurus came with the car again to Le Mans. Then ran in 2005 for some of these types in various sports car races before the end of Lola Lola B06/10 by surrendering the new prototype model.
