Lonely Day is a song by American alternative metal band System of a Down, while the second single from the album Hypnotize. The single was released on 7 April 2006. The text was the guitarist of the band, Daron Malakian, written. Lonely Day occurs both in the movie Disturbia and in the accompanying trailer.
Furthermore, the song in 2006 for a Grammy Award in the category was nominated " Best Hard Rock Performance ".

Formation
Lonely Day was created as part of the album Hypnotize, which in 2005, so in the same year as the first part of the double album, Mezmerize, was released.
The production of the double album began in July 2004. The band moved in with Rick Rubin in the California studio The Mansion, where the album's production lasted until November. For this, among other songs were used that had already been written several years earlier. Since the production enough songs for two albums were created, a decision was made to release two albums.
