Looptroop Rockers
Looptroop is a Swedish hip- hop group. They rap from a few exceptions in English. Looptroop are especially popular in Scandinavia and in North American and European hip- hop fans. Their lyrics deal in large part with classic left social criticism.
History
Looptroop was founded in 1991 by Promoe and Embee DJ who already knew each other from school. A year later, Cosmic joined as the third member of the group. My first tape was titled superstars. After a U.S. tour of DJ Embee Looptroop published in 1995 their second tape Threesicksteez. On this, the members had worked together with MC Supreme, in 1996 a full member of Looptroop was. In the same year, they released From the Wax Cabinet.
Between 1996 and 2000 Looptroop released several EPs on their own label David vs. Goliath (David vs. Goliath ). They were the first Swedish rap group who received their albums and completely self- produced. During this time she also denied appearances with groups like the Arsonists, High & Mighty, Mass Influence, Non Phixion, Pharoahe Monch and the famous American rapper Xzibit. The group disbanded because of the violent lyrics of their songs, " Jag Sköt Palm" ( " I shot ( Olof ) Palme" ) and "Ring Snuten " ( " Call the police " ) a controversy after it had been played on the national radio station P3. The state radio was sued for broadcasting, but later acquitted.
2000 was their debut album Modern Day City Symphony on the market, which earned them a lot of praise from critics and fans. Followed in 2002 by the sequel The Struggle Continues. In 2005 they released their third album, Fort Europe. Followed in 2008 by the fourth and latest album Good Things, which was released under the new band name " Looptroop Rockers ".
Promoe also released solo albums. First Government Music, then Long Distance Runner. With its Singles Off The Record and These Walls Do not Lie he became known beyond Scandinavia. In 2006, he released his third solo album, White Man's Burden. In the summer of 2007, he released a B-sides Album ( Standard Bearer ) with a film that has the same title. The movie shows a live concert in Copenhagen and some creative processes for the third solo album.
With rappers like Timbuktu or chords of JuJu Records, a label also from Sweden, already came into being some featurings.
Looptroop is on the Graffiti Videos Area 08 and Area 08 - 2 to hear. Half rumors it is said that some of the actors in the videos, which show for the most part, such as illegal moves are painted, members of Looptroop are.
In early 2007 gave Cosmic announced that he will finally leave the group. The reason he said that they can take care of due to the busy work schedule too little about his family. Dispute between the group members did not exist. In the published 2008 fourth album Good Things, which was released under the new band name Looptroop Rockers, Cosmic is however represented.
In mid-May, 2010, rapper Promoe at a show in Helsinki announced that Cosmic is an official member of the band again and is already working on a new album. This was released in March 2011 under the name Professional Dreamers.
