Loose, Germany

Loose (Danish: lots) is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein. In the municipality there are some estates, including Charlotte, Eric and Osterhof.

Geography and transport

Loose is located about 8 km northeast of Eckernförde on the Schwansen Peninsula. The Schwansenstraße ( Federal Road 203) from Eckernförde to Kappeln crosses the municipality in north-south direction and divides the village into districts Loosau in the west and Loose ( village road ) to the east. In addition, the villages Grünthal, Ilewitt, Kasmarkhof, Kommherut, Lüttrott, Mohr Bergmühle, Rosahl, Tolsrüh and the estates Kasmark, Charlotte, Eric and Osterhof in the municipal area are.

History

The village Loose ( Loh -see = forest lake ), first mentioned in 1339, was originally a for manor Saxtorf ( now the town Rieseby ) associated settlement, which was an independent municipality in 1865, after the Duchy of Schleswig had fallen from Denmark to Prussia. The above manors and Ilewitt were originally Meier courts of Saxtorf. 1.6 km northeast of the town, the megalithic grave Loose.

Policy

Of the thirteen seats in the municipal council, the CDU has been the local elections 2008 six seats, the voter community WVL five and the SPD has two seats.

The heraldic rose illustrates the central position of the town on the peninsula Schwansen from the waters. Correspondingly, the wave plate for the main loop and the Wellenschildfuß for the Baltic Sea. The oak leaves on either side of the rose have the huge oak forest ( the Isarnhoe ) towards that once covered the area, and at the same time represent the two districts Loose and Loosau.

Economy

In addition to the citizen meeting in the former dairy offers a guest and meeting house in the former village inn Lindenhof cultural events space. Apart from a carpentry and roofing company the rural economy, however, apart from the gas station at the Schwansenstraße, came largely to a standstill.

Social facilities

In the village there is a kindergarten, since 1964, a chapel, a citizens' meeting place and a sports club. Because of the returning number of students, the students of the former elementary school Loose be sent to that of Barkelsby since the summer of 2006.
