Lorenzo Gafà

Lorenzo Gafa (also Lorenzo Cafa, Gafa or CFAA; * 1630/1638 in Vittoriosa, † 1703/1704 ) was a Maltese Baroque architect and sculptor Melchiorre Gafa brother.

Life

Lorenzo Gafa remained all his life in Vittoriosa ( Birgu today ), traditions according to which he was 1699-1700 to study in Rome. Gafas works are among the most important Baroque works of Malta.

In the vicinity of Vittoriosa a boys' school was named after the architect.
