Lorenzo Serra Ferrer

Llorenç Serra Ferrer ( born March 5, 1953 in Sa Pobla, Mallorca) is a Spanish football coach.

Career

Ferrer 1985 coach of RCD Mallorca and was able to achieve with the club in the Primera División the rise. After eight years at RCD Mallorca in 1993 he became coach of Real Betis. Also, the club he helped to promotion to the Primera División in 1994. During the following season he could reach with Betis an excellent third place, thereby qualified for the UEFA Cup in 1995/96.

In 1997 he moved to FC Barcelona, ​​where he coached the youth department until 2000. Having parted Barcelona 2000 by Louis van Gaal, Ferrer became the 2000/01 season head coach of FC Barcelona. This season began with the disappointing early exit in the first group stage of the Champions League.
