Lorenzo Storioni

Lorenzo Storioni (* November 10, 1744 in Cremona, † January 10, 1816 ) was an Italian luthier.

Storioni belonged alongside Giovanni Battista Guadagnini and Balestrieri Tommaso to the important Cremonese masters of the late 18th century. His violins are based on models of Guarnerius del Gesu. The productive time was probably 1770-1804. Though he used less good wood and varnish, soloists Storionis appreciate violins mainly because of its powerful, open and radiant tone. Giovanni Battista Ceruti, Giovanni Rota and Giovanni Francesco Pressenda be counted among his pupils, and it is not used for the latter.
