Louis Abelly

Louis Abelly (* 1602, † October 4, 1691 in Paris) was a bishop of Rodez in southern France, a Catholic moral theologian, friend and biographer of St. Vincent de Paul. He wrote the temperate semi-Pelagian dogmatic textbook " Medulla Theologica ". Therefore, the Jansenists gave him the leg imitate " le moelleux ". Abely was a great defender of the Marian cult and wrote about the church tradition. He was among the opponents of the Jansenists and died 88 years old in the donated by Saint Vincent de Paul Lazarus monastery in Paris.
